Were you the victim of a misdemeanor crime in the City of Phoenix?
As a victim of a crime, you have certain legal rights. The Phoenix Prosecutor’s Office has a Victim Services Unit and this online Crime Victim Services Center to help you with questions and concerns you might have, and to provide information and support regarding the criminal process.
If you are a victim of a felony crime please contact the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office Victim Services Division at 602-506-8522 or via their website.
What information is available in the Crime Victim Services Center?
The Victim Information Center, provides resources, how-to information, links, and certain online forms to help victims. Please click on the links below to learn about:
- View and Print "Your Rights as a Crime Victim" pamphlet
- Invoking Your Rights pursuant to the Victims’ Bill of Rights as a victim and receiving notice of court dates and the status of the case.
- Obtaining Protective Orders such as an Order of Protection or an Injunction Against Harassment.
- Providing a Victim Impact Statement to the Court to let the judge know how the crime affected you and your family. You have the right to be heard and this Statement is very important because a defendant can plead and be sentenced at any hearing.
- Requesting Restitution for financial loss you suffered as a direct result of the crime committed against you.
- Contacting your Advocate or Victim Services Unit and learning what an advocate can do for you.
- Domestic Violence crimes, including Domestic Violence Shelter and other resources information, Frequently Asked Questions, Safety Information, Rental Termination Law, and more.
- Updating your Victim Contact Information so that you receive all notifications.
- Accessing the Victim’s Bill of Rights so you can learn about your legal rights as a victim.
- Participating in a Victim Survey.
